Frequently asked questions.
How long does it take to complete a project for a client?
It varies depending on the size and complexity of your project. For a single family home for real estate imaging or event imaging, it can take between 4-7days depending on access to the property, weather for flying, filming and photography, the amount of projects we’re managing, and image and video processing. For a structural inspection, it can take between 3-5 days because less time is needed to process imaging. We always strive to get projects turned around in a timely fashion within a week. That said, building in lead time for your project is always helpful.
I have a drone. Can’t I just do it?
The US Federal Aviation Association (FAA) regulates and enforces drone air traffic. To operate a drone for commercial uses (which is anything outside of pure enjoyment), a person needs to pass the Part 107 unmanned air vehicle (UAV) exam and pass. You also need to register yourself and your drone with the FAA, in order to be in legal compliance. There are serious fines and penalties for not being in compliance.
Can you do work for film and television?
Yes. I am also open to working for film and television studios for aerial film and stills for productions.
What type of drone do you use?
Currently, I am working with a DJI Flip. It is a very versatile craft that meets the technical needs for the work I do. That said. I am also looking to add to my fleet craft that have a broader set of capabilities. I will update this question when I grow my fleet.
